Dr Athinodoros Valavanis
Consultant Neurologist

I qualified as a doctor from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2004 with a degree in Medicine. After completing my post-graduate training in general adult neurology, I completed a fellowship at UCL Queen Square institute of Neurology / The National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery in London where I sub-specialised in movement disorders. 

After qualifying in 2013, I have practiced general Neurology as a Consultant Neurologist across many NHS trusts around the UK. In 2020, after my research and input into successful projects in the field of multiple sclerosis, I was awarded with a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece).

Over the last five years I have been based at The Royal Surrey Foundation Trust in Guildford as a Consultant with general neurology clinics, Movement disorder clinics and Botulinum toxin clinics. I have now established my private practice, which I hold at the Nuffield Health in Guildford.
